The abundance of wine estates located in Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Wellington and Paarl are an ideal setting for a Cape wedding. With sweeping views over vineyards and mountains a wine estate wedding makes an excellent setting for photographs as well as offering a beautiful setting for guests to enjoy. Menu's vary from one location to another, but with the variety of venues on offer you're sure to find something that suits your requirements. In addition, many wine estates offer accommodation giving guests and the bridal party the opportunity to stay overnight.


City Venues

 


Cape Town has a variety of excellent hotels and venues which offer wedding packages and are able to accommodate weddings of varying sizes and styles. Its advisable to opt for a venue that is an established wedding venue - this way you will be able to benefit from the aquired knowlege of previous weddings and can rest assured that your special day should run smoothly. Many venues are able to accommodate both the ceremony and the reception and often the banquting manager will be able to assist with other details relating to your wedding day.


Photographers

 
There are plenty of excellent wedding photographers in Cape Town. Be advised that most photographers are booked from 9-months up to a year in advance. Generally photographers offer a selection of set wedding packages, although most will be more than happy to tailor a package to suit your individual requirements.


 >  Expect to pay anything from a minimum of R150 per head for a 3-course meal. This cost excludes drinks and service charge, and depending on the venue there may be a venue hiring fee.

 >  Although many venues do allow you to supply your own wine, you will be nevertheless be charged a corkage price per bottle.

 >  Photographers charge anything from R4000 upwards for a wedding package which usually includes between 100-120 photo's in either colour, black and white or both. Remember to confirm with your photographer whether or not he/she will give you the negatives.

 >  January, February and March are typically hot months, especially in the winelands. Bear this in mind if you and your guests are used to a cooler climate.
