Hiking and walking in Cape Town

 With the number of walking and hiking trails in and around Cape Town and its surrounding mountains and forests, one could easily be kept busy for weeks. The Cape provides an array of hiking backdrops from waterfalls and ravines to dry fynbos and lush forest - beautiful scenery as well as an adundance of flora and birdlife awaits.

While the majority of the most popular routes are well-sign posted it is important to bear in mind that the Cape's weather is notorious for changing without warning. It is advisable to be prepared with plenty of water and warm clothing regardless of the weather. Plan your route before hand and consult a guide book with maps or alternatively opt to walk with a local or guide who is well aquainted with the area.
